You dont say what engine in car . Possibly throttle body needing cleaned .

my car is a 1997 ford mondeo estate 1.8 td over reving up to 6000 revs when worm , thought it was gonna blow up , i have cleand the throttle cable and still have no look its still doing it there is no blue or black smoke just seems normal diesel smoke . help please ?
