Brake light problem

Check that it's the correct bulb , normally twin filament 380 stop / tail .Take it the tail light is o.k , just brake light . Check bulb fitted correctly , could compare or swap with other working side if not sure . If all o.k , test there is power to bulb / holder .

right to reboot the bus in the bcmi you need the fault code cleared and then keys off and lamps off restart vechicle and turn on lamps they should all work ok, check front side lamps as well as mondeo seem to have a fault which also switchs off the side lamps on the side the bulb blows, we get loads from halfords and other garages dont bother checking fuses as wast of your time system goes to the body control unit under the pass dash footwell and works by closeing down the systems with the fault if you only have a bacis code reader then you will need to go to ford dealer to have ids put on to remove code takes about 20mins so agree a price around that labour time not a hour as they all seem to charge

Thanks guys for quick response.Firstly,yes,the new bulbs are correct and fine,ive swapped them into the working side and they are ok.
Tony its clear you know your onions but me being thick I cant grasp what you're saying.

Are you saying that the fault code has to be reset and the only way for me to do it is take it to a main dealer?
