2004 Ford Mondeo not starting

Hi, a problem has just started happening with my Mondeo where it won’t start after it has been driven. It was starting fine during the morning (I had a few trips to make) drove it for about 20 mins and stopped in a car park. When I went to move it after about 2 or three minutes the engine wouldn’t turn over. The displays on the dash went blank as normal but there was no sound at all from the starter. When the call out mechanic arrived after about an hour and a half it started perfectly on the first turn of the engine. I tried it a number of times and it worked fine. Just driven for about half an hour parked up and stopped the engine and now have exactly the same issue. It doesn’t appear to be overheated. Any thoughts?

Check all connections / wiring at starter motor .Check earth strap to engine / gearbox .

sounds like faulty starter solenoid.when the fault happens then you need to check the things stated by whitinghame

My Mondeo does the same, I drove mine to work and it would not start to go home. I have checked all the fuses and relays, if you remove relay K22 in the engine compartment and link pin 3&5 with a heavy gauge wire the starter should turn over, the relay can also be checked using the battery and test meter to see if the contacts are switching over, check that there is 12volts on K22 pin 5 and check that there is 12volts on K22 pin 1with the ignition switch on.
Mine has just started to run again for no reason after disconnecting the battery.
