2000 Ford Mondeo car stalling first in reverse and now in forward gears.

Car: Ford Mondeo
Year: 2000
Variant: 2.0 zetec estate
Categories: Running Rough, Starting & Power Loss
Problem started with car stalling when trying to drive in reverse. Can only be reversed with difficulty, by riding the clutch and keeping revs. up. Now we have noticed that the car is stalling in forward gears in low revs e.g. cornering. Any ideas?

could be the idle speed control valve that wants cleaning as for the stalling when cornering can only think that there may be a fuel problem ie delivery of fuel to the engine have the pressure checked from the pump

I had a similar problem on one of these models a while ago, the wiring upto the coil pack was intermittantly breaking with engine movement
