Cruise control will not switch ON

The problem with the Cruise control, is it will not switch on, the only light thats comes up is Cruise control on standby and then its go's off?

Could check switches at brake / clutch pedals .

The problem with the Cruise control, is it will not turn on, I have checked the 2 switches on the brake / clutch pedals and the fuses.
still not working can anyone help please
