had problem with windows / mirrors / c/locking didn't work - check first - fuse in engine bay 60 amp this feeds rear fuse box in boot where supply for drivers door is taken,sometimes this is prone to poor conection pull it out and reinsert,found this via auto spark help,

check fuse in boot if ok, check wiring loom from a & b pillars to doors sometimes where doors open & shut the wires in the sheath bend forwards and backwards breaking the wires, if all ok may need a sparky to have a look

If 2008 car , is it not still under warranty ? If so take back to dealers .

re drivers door control problem,found another fault to the one's came across it's the plug on the hinge side in drivers door - green corrosion on pins in plug giving poor contact - clean or bypass plug,problem solved.
