1999 Ford Mondeo car won't start

Car: Ford Mondeo
Year: 1999
Variant: 1.8 td
Categories: Running Rough, Starting & Power Loss
Tried to start car this morning and I am getting all the usual dashboard lights but when going to start engine nothing not even a click I had the starter replaced September The headlights wipers etc all work and I tried to start with headlights full on they did not dim there appears to be no contact.
We have just had heavy rain so thinking this may be a factor I sprayed the electrical parts with wet start I have only s basic knowledge with regards to cars, this seems electrical in nature as the engine doesn't crank or even click when attempt is made to start

next to the battery there is a small plug with usually a black grey or red grey wire in it try unplugging it make sure its in neutral and put a feed down it to see if it cranks

I just realised the immobiliser light is staying on when I insert key so it may be that
