2005 Ford Mondeo engine management warning light

There is another way of finding the codes without using diagnostic equipment, if you hold the stalk on the left which comes out of the dials in a way, then switch on the ignition while holding in the button/stalk, the dials should all go to full then back to normal from her you can just press the button to find out information. I think the main thing is the DTC - None if it says this there isn’t any major problems. Hope this helps

Tried that and get no response,all it does is change the temperature read out from centigrade to fahrenheit, Light still on.

What do you mean by DTC??

Would disconnecting the battery reset the computor back to the normal??

Have covered about 20 miles today and the car runs fine.

The saga continues. It would seem that there is no way of obtaining the fault code concerned without except to connect to a diagnostic machine (anyone please tell me if this is correct).

I have tried by discinnecting the battery for an hour then reconnecting, which has made no difference, the light is still on and the engine runs and the car drives perfectly.I could just ignore it I suppose, but my years of experience tell me that I must find out the reason, modern cars are just crap to us old world mechanics, things used to be simple and could be put right before the introduction of electronic management.

Ah well, I supose that I will just have to bite the bullet and pay out for someone to tell me that a stupid sensor has malfunctioned or the fuel filter needs replacing. Progress!!!!
