2000 Ford Mondeo alarm

Reacently the alarm on my mondeo estate has started going off for no apparent reason.
When this happens i unlock it with the key fob and then re lock it and some times it will be ok other times it will go off again several times.
I have changed the battery in the key fob,made sure all the windows and doors are properly shut.
The problem also happens at any time of day or night.
Hope some one can help

the common problems causing this are :-
iffy bonnet catch ( can be checked by simply bridging the connection for the bonnet catch switch - make sure you have the bonnet catch switch though as there is a crash sensor in the same area & if you bridge that it will do nothing apart from bring on the airbag warning light :whsitling: . when confirmed you will need to replace the entire bonnet catch in order to bring it back to full functional condition due to the switch being part of the catch )
the boot catch can also cause alarm activation too but usually this does not stop the button working ( that can either be a dodgy switch itself or a confused central locking system due to a dicky drivers door lock unit - my mota has problems with the boot catch but the alarm aint going off all the time )
cant remember what the problem is with the boot but there is a few posts about it on here for you to have a gander at
