Can anyone help please ? I have a 2.ltr tdci mondeo 54 plate. My problem is we went for a day trip yesterday the car was fine getting there, the problem was getting home id done about 45 miles with the car making a whining noise. I stopped at a roundabout and it wouldn't go into gear then the engine management light came on then the car stalled, i waited a couple of minutes and it all started fine. id just made it home now it wont go into gear it makes a bad rattle noise, but when i push clutch in it goes away.I've now noticed like a white looking oil on floor. I had a new clutch and flywheel fitted in 3 months ago anybody got any ideas i know nothing about cars apart from the expense. Thank you

Sounds like it could be clutch bearing . As it was replaced three months ago , get it back to them under warranty claim. If not sure , you could get another garages opinion beforehand and if they say clutch fault , then you have back up re warranty claim.Best of luck .

hi, your car is fitted with a duel mass flywheel that has been a big problem from day one, almost all tdci mondeos have a nasty rattle from the clutch, it is more likely to be the flywheel, as for the engine the only way you will know is to have it checked by a garage, sensors everyware
