1999 Ford Mondeo drinks more fuel,less mph.

Hi,
I've got a mondeo 2.0 16v Ghia X 1999
for some reason it is starting to drink more fuel and giving me less mph could someone tell me what is wrong with it.I was reading about someone else who had the same problem and he was told it is the EPGD Valve.I rang the dealers and they have never heard of it.Also what dose EPGD mean and what am i looking for.

have you checked the air filter as a dirty one
will make it run richer

I have had the car serviced new oil,air filter spark plugs even the temp is OK.I had a new battery put in that is when the problem started.

if the problem only started after service check air filter isnt blocked (plastic rapper)but more likly wrong plugs or gap !!!!!

Please can anyone help. I have a ford mondeo 2005 tdci im having problems with starting when engine is hot, the injectors are fine. pump is working great, cam shaft sensor is new, new fuel filter put on, the car runs perfectly its a 115 bhp no smoke and no lights coming on, have been told it could be the turbo arm jamming. Doe anyone know would this mean a new turbo ?
