2010 Ford Mondeo revs with clutch depressed release clutch stalls

Sounds like clutch burnt out or collapsed , DMF failure

Hi would this not throw up some warning light plus I can still get it in gear

Hi no before he towed me he drove it forward and reverse and it seemed ok so l had a go but when I joined the the dual carriage way with him following I could only do 50 mph so that’s why he towed me he didn’t seem to have a clue what was up

RAC man talking rubbish . A clutch can fail a lot sooner than two years old and often happens for various reasons . If your car is driving at 50mph and losing power due to clutch slip you would have increased revs and no further increase in speed . If that is not the case , you may have an engine fault that is causing lack of power and if that is what's happening RAC should have scanned for fault codes before leaving you
