1998 Ford Mondeo central locking not working

Car: Ford Mondeo
Year: 1998
Variant: 2.o Zetec
Categories: Leaks & Noises
My central locking stopped working. If I use the key to open it only opens the drivers door and the central locking does not activate. I have changed battery in key and changed fuse. The light on dashboard for the alarm keeps ticking over (in fact constantly makes a ticking noise) and its like their is a pulse going into constantly. Would be great to get this working as assume Ford dealer will be expensive to get fixed. Any thoughts appreciated.

the central locking will only lock the front doors but will not lock or unlock the back doors and now the back doors are locked and i cant unlock them. I have changed battery in key and checked the no 25 fuse under glove box.
