2005 Ford Mondeo changed cam sensor, still no start

Car: Ford Mondeo
Year: 2005
Variant: 2.O TDCI 115 BhP
Categories: Running Rough, Starting & Power Loss
Hi guys

Had a problem on Sunday, never had a misfire or problem with timing before. All of a sudden car wouldn't start.

Usual coil light goin out on ignition then after 3 or 4 seconds on no start flashing.

Put on computer in Ford next day and the cam sensor fault came up. Upgraded sensor put in, still no start, though engine will wind. Same fault is still on the computer. Also had brain removed and tried in another Mondeo, which started fine so it doesn't appear to be the brain.

Pump is fine and cam is turning, and as yet no problems with wiring that Ford can find. Injectors are also fine as fuel pressure is ok. Crank sensor is also good. RPM also ok.

Any help or suggestions very welcome. PLEASE HELP!!

i know it may be stating the obvious but have you tried replacing the glow plugs or even the glow relay

The glow plugs should be fine, never had a misfire or problem started before. Added to that, they did not appear on diagnostic. As I've also said wiring seems fine

hi will it run of easy start? is it a grey or black sensor

mastertech- it won't run at all. it's late 05 so it alreay had upgraded grey sensor but the same fault appears on diagnostic, tho it has been repaced anyway. brain is ok on another mondeo, starts fine.

Really at a loss

Found out on Friday that the timing had somehow jumped, which has caused the valves to become bent. Replacement cylinder head required, although with the amount of striping down required I have just bought a replacement engine with around 40k on it for £450. I thought the purpose of the chain was to prevent this from happening. Only 60k done. GUTTED
