If the hose leading from the fuel filter to the pump is split will that be the reason why my car cuts out as if it runs out of fuel although i have half a tank in there? And it does start up again the next day.

any split in the fuel line will cause running problems and should be replaced asap as its dangerous

do not use car till fixed as if high pressure pump runs out of fuel it WILL be damaged as it uses the fuel to lubricate its self
