Engine reving

Turn the key engine revs to 3000 plus revs without touching the pedal. Then drops .going down the road car runs on its own foot off the pedal seems to speed up break to stop to slow car engine revs drop when stopped it is an automatic so it a bit of a problem
Have changed tps and idle valve but no difference.

Any help please most welcome

Check the PCV valve and hose , If faulty / leaking it gives an air leak which increases engine revs . On some it can mean removing inlet manifold to replace .
