had a sudden loss of steering fluid, can't see where leak is looks ok between resavoir and pump

check the steering fluid cooler

the steering coolers fail all the time if you look through the lower part of the front bumper you will see it.Its is held on with to 8mm bolts and you will have to undo two hose clips,you access it from underneath you may have to remove front undertray panel if you still have one fitted the part is about £50 from fords as i changed a couple of months ago,(you should see the fluid coming out of it especially when the steering is being operated if this is the fault)
