Hi,
I have read your threads here and am wondering if you can help me with an issue. The heater on my car, whether set to hot or cold, high or low, full power or low power, only blows out of the defrost window vents and the foot well, and blows out constantly Hot. I am certain that when i first noticed this problem, it was only blowing out of these ports but was blowing cold, so i thought, hey, its ok, summer is coming. Now when i try it, it only blows out HOT. There seem to be alot of issues with people being charged for re-charging air con compressors and other issues that never seem to fix the problem. I don't mind spending the money, so long as its on the right things.

air con wont change hot or cold it only inhances settings it also doesnt change direction of air.
so look at the problem as if it has no a/c.
early mondeos had cable direction and temp controls and if you look in footwells cable settings can be reset if electronic controls by stepper motors ive no idea
when done check a/c works by setting blower to full cold no a/c check temp then hit ac button it should get colder hope this helps a bit
