Using far too much petrol.

1996 Ford Mondeo 2000 cc si

Hello again, thanks to Nightcrawler for the advice, but it didn't solve the problem. The
car still seems to be running rich, well there's a vey strong smell of petrol when she's running. Last summer, I gave her a service, plugs, leads lambda sensor, oil change and oil filter, petrol filter, new MAF, fitted an ecotek valve, rubbish, I've closed it down and will remove it when the weather improves, she has a stainless steel
induction system and although I know it makes no difference, 16" Cougar alloys. Oh by the way she also has a cat back system by
Powerflow! Even after these mods she was giving me 220 miles per £40.00. Last week the mileage was 150 per £40.00. The water temp guage stopped workin, so I changed the
thermostat and sensor. I took it to a mechanic I know and he tested it on his
fault finder. He found that the EPGD valve was dead. said that could be the problem, what do you guys think, any input would be greatly appreciated. By the way Ford want £80.00 for an EPGD valve. What a stinger.
Thank you all again. Peace and Best Wishes...Harry.

if that is what the fault finder picked up the then it can only be trial and error situation and i cant think of any aftersales people that would be able to help other than the dealers
