2008 Ford Mondeo global opening and closing

When I open my drivers side window, it goes up and down in stages instead of going straight down in the one touch open/close. And the global opening and closing only works on the passengers side. I have looked on the internet but they are all for mark 3's not mark 4's.

Ignition on, press and hold down button till glass is down and hold button for 3 seconds release and hold again for 3 seconds, now close window and do the same button procedure as when opening. If this does not work there could be a fault in the door to pillar connecting plug
