Sometimes the heater works and sometimes it doesn't work and to get it to work I have to turn the sidelights on?

Doesn't help to get an answer when you double post and have two different years for car , Strange fault ,could check heater resistor for a start off but heater set up varies dependant on year and whether it has climate control .
