1998 Ford Mondeo engine has just cut out whilst driving and i can not restart

my car has died on me, the engine just stopped whilst i was driving and i am unable to restart as i have absolutely no power, i presume the battery is ok as i have got central locking and interior lights, but no ignition power or lights

I would first check that the engine can be turned by hand using a socket/spanner on the bottom crank pulley ,that would rule out trimming belt failure or air con. Pump seized .then check battery voltage.then check power to starter motor when ignition switch applied.

we have discovered the problem,, there was a poor conection in the stereo wiring at the ignition end this in turn shorted out and blew the ignition fuse,
