Constant screech noise

2004 Ford Mondeo 2.0 TDCI
Car: Ford Mondeo
Year: 2004
Variant: 2.0 TDCI
Categories: Steering, Suspension, Brakes, Wheels & Tyres
I am experiencing a squeeking noise from my mondeo. it seems to be coming from the rear wheels and tends to disappear as soon as I touch the brake pedal and in particular the handbrake. The noise level varies but doesn't seem related to the speed I am doing. i have had it checked by Ford and two other garages who cant find a fault and think that im hearing things !!!

Any help on what this could be can be emailed directly to me @ [email protected]

thanks lads...

I would think that the pads are glazed, you can save them but it depends if you are good with the spanners, it involved taking the pads out and taking the shine off them. Alternatively get some new pads fitted shouldnt be too much.

would also put a light smear of copper slip on back of pads as this stops the pads rubbing on the calipers if they are aftermarket pads
