Took the old pads out but am unable to move the pistons back to get the new ones in.I was wondering if there was something i need to do to get them back. This is on both sides which makes me think that they cant both be siezed

The pistons cannot be pushed in, they are threaded and have to be wound back in.
A pain in the backside unless you have the tool for it.
