1998 Ford Mondeo handbrake light stays on

Car: Ford Mondeo
Year: 1998
Variant: 1.8LS
Categories: Steering, Suspension, Brakes, Wheels & Tyres
The handbrake light on my mondeo 1.8 stays on most of the time. At first it was only flashing on occasionally, but now is on most of the time. I want to know what should i check. There,s 2 symbols on, on the light, one is handbrake symbol, and the other is a question mark, or hyphon. I,m wondering could problem be low on brake pads or shoes, brake fluid, or some sensor, faulty. Anyone know. Thanks Paul.

First check your brake fluid level and top up as req.If not that then small switch contact on the hand brake lever probably wires came off.
