Could try cleaning MAF and check for any air leaks at or around the inlet manifold and also vacuum /breather hoses for any splits or leaks .

Hi chaps,

Looking to replace my MAF sensor, and noted that on the unit is the FINIS code

98AB-12B579-B3B
AFH60-13

Its a Petrol Zetec 1.8 16V black top. I've seen similar ones that end in B1B but am unsure if they will work also?. I think I read SOME part of the code is only a batch code and not that important but am unsure which part :(

Any advice appreciated. The cars a little rough on IDLE so want to get it sorted. Already replaced the Idle Air Control Valve which didnt help so was a waste of money

Is there a way to test the MAF sensor is actually working without replacing the unit ? (could be its fine I'm thinking)

I have just bought an 03 ford zetec modeo 1999cc petrol automatic. I am having problems with the engine losing speed and cant get above 30mph some days 50. It wont accelerate I have had the filters changed. When picked up by tow truck they though it was a sensor problem but garage couldnt find the fault when they looked at it. Broke down again last night same problem.
