when stationary my cars reving upto about 25000 revs, it also does this when i slow down when driving, the engine management light is also on.

cheque the hoses around ur air filter. i had this on a astra and it was just a hose that had come off.

If the lights been triggered it should have logged a fault code,You will need to get the code read unless you can pysically see the fault i.e. a burst hose or drawing air.

Check / clean idle air control valve and if needed throttle body .
