1999 Ford Mondeo car is burning too much petrol, whats the problem?

I just got a mondeo zetec 2.0 L and is burning too much gas.I fill the petrol tank with 14.64 l of petrol and I drove like 88 miles.It is good of bad?

From what you say in your post, you are getting around 27-28 mpg. According to ford mpg comparison page, this is average mpg for your car.
