1996 Ford Maverick electric windows not working

hi everyone, its my first post so i would like to thank you all in advance for any help :-) ok i have had to fit a new battery to my maverick after it was left standing for 6 months, + now i have a problem with the electric windows. the drivers works but not the other 3?? underneath the centre console by the handbrake is 2 block connectors, i have had to disconnect 1 because otherwise i get a loud clicking noise aprox every 2 seconds, + the lights on the dashboard flicker at the same time?? this is why i have disconnected the other block.. pls pls help :-)
