is it a genuine coil?

possibly not switching that side of the coil pack as it does them in pairs ie 1 and 4 then 2 and 3 if you can compare the voltages in the small multiplug that plugs the coil pack in .dependant on year the centre wire of the 3 is normally the supply and the two outer wires are the switching wires, connect a voltmeter between battery live and each switching wire in turn then increase the revs (if your lucky enough to get it to run) the voltage should increase slightly as revs rise.also check the wiring to that plug is not chaffed or burnt for example on egr pipes
