Clicking noise from transmission

on a camping trip towing small trailertent 390kg intermittent clicking from trans/d/shafts i dipped the clutch to confirm was not engine noise also at approx 40/50mph if i touch footbrake gently noise goes away but returns the clicking is consistent with roadspeed cars towing weight is approx 430kg im i possibly overloading and a possible diagnosis please any info might save me a fortune garage charges thank you

Sounds like a sticking pad in brake calliper .Could possibly cure by stripping down , cleaning out and lubricating
