Airbag warning light staying on

I bought the car off the father-in-law in October. The day after I collected it the airbag warning light came on and stays on once ignition on. It goes through a process of flashing on and off then stays on.

Due to the complexity and hazzards of airbag systems i reccomend taking your car to a local ford dealer or a garage with the right equipment to diagnose the problem with diagnostic equipment

Worth checking connections / wiring under front seats .

Agree with whittingehame, if it was a serious fault the light would stay on continuously until reset with a diagnostic tool. Simple loose connection faults will auto reset.
