Boot lock

2005 Ford Focus 1600 tdci
Car: Ford Focus
Year: 2005
Variant: 1600 tdci
Categories: Electrics, ECU, Warnings & Lights
After unlocking car with either key or remote, the bootlid will not open manually.
I have to press remote another 2,3 or sometimes even 4 times before boot actually opens. Can be very frustrating but worse still if battery goes in remote I would not be able to access the boot.
Any help gratefully received.

Could be sticking boot lock / solenoid , strip down and try some WD40 on it .

it is normal to have to depress boot unlock button an remote twice to open, im guessing that you use remote to lock an unlock car so only use key on igntion and petrol cap, my guess would be to have your key checked over as probably worn, an seen as boot lock isnt used as often as p.cap and igntion lock. does your boot release button work on the dashboard ?
