2000 Ford Focus abs light on

Hi peeps, im new to this and dont know too much about cars, my problem is that my ABS light stays on!!!
I renewed the sensor as the diagnostic test told me it was my front right sensor, but my light went out when i drove it then came on again after about 8seconds, what might the problem be?
I have been told to take it out again give it a rub with a little grease or vaseline as the sensor might be over sensitive with it being brand new, i don't know, i hope someone can be of some help to me on this as it's now getting very frustrating and very close to my MOT renewal date.
The car is an o5 plate but its the old mark 1 shape

try cleaning the sensor ring that the actual sensor detects ,you can sometimes do it through the sensor hole use some cleaner and maybe a cable tie poked through the hole as you turn the wheel. dont use anything too hard or you may damage the sensor ring

Just to add to " wiggy4170 " solution . Dont " give it a rub with a little grease or vaseline " . all that will do is cause all brake dust / dirt etc . to stick to it and knacker it .

brake parts cleaner would be better

Just drove it to shops and back, the light went out for about 10 seconds but it's back on again, since the sensor has been in it has driven about 17 miles, could it just be it needs time to reset or do you think it's dirt or whatever, like just needing a clean inside the hole where bolt goes.
