2002 Ford Focus steering wheel vibrates when braking

Car: Ford Focus
Year: 2002
Variant: 1.8 zetec hatchback
Categories: Leaks & Noises
Whenever I'm goin above 40mph, and I brake, my steering wheel is vibrating. There's no difference in the brakes working, everything still drives the same, and car was serviced in march, any offers on what is wrong?

You could have sticking brake pads which would mean stripping down , cleaning out, freeing off and coating contact points with copper grease before rebuilding . Or warped brake disc/s .But if it's only doing it above 40mph you could have an ABS fault where it's kicking in .

get tires checked as they could be unbalanced above 40 mph you would feel vibration off the road on the steering colum and also check the tyres them self for any uneven wear as this indecates a tracking problem

If it's only happening when you brake , cant be wheel balance or tracking .

Not tracking as this would make steering pull to one side. Also not wheel balancing as you are more likely to feel the vibration while you were driving along, not just under braking.
