how do the struts come off and go on

Normally you support the tail gate and prise of the upper spring clip then pull the arm from the ball stud .The same for the bottom.Refitting is a reversal of procedure.

if its like most cars the clip is like a small c shape and is sprung steel ,its right near the ends of the strutts you just prize it out with a small screwdriver make sure the bootlid dont fall they are heavy when not supported
