2005 Ford Focus tailgate/boot unlatching whilst driving plus red light on speedo

Hi,
There is a small red light at the bottom left hand corner of the speedo that comes on every so often AND the boot seems to unlatch itself (It doesn't open) whilst I am driving.
Any ideas?

Be worthwhile pulling of tailgate trim and checking lock / microswitch connections and for any water or dampness .May need replacing .
