Creaking when turning at low speed

1994 Ford Focus 1.6

Hi

I have recently noticed that my Focus creaks when driving at low speed, in particular when turning right.

Any ideas as to what is wrong and the cost to fix? Also is it safe to drive or is something going to suddenly break on me!?

I had carried some weight (bags of soil) in the front and back recently which may have caused the problem? It has since been through an MOT and nothing was mentioned, the creaking started soon after.

I'm getting worried about it but dread the labour costs of getting it checked out.

Really appreciate any help please.

unfortunately it has been known that ambitious use of a crowbar during an mot can result in faults comming sooner rather than later... saying this i would check your wishbone (one of the bushes) and it is cheaper to buy a complete wishbone rather than the individual part and have it fitted. if you go for an aftermarket part, cost is about £30

could also try anti roll bar bush or the drop link arm.... these are easy to check and cheap to buy/install
