hi i bought a ford focus recently and the person that i bought the car of said that the timing belt only needs to be done every 100thousand miles and said it was done at a 100thousand. i have recently checked the timing cover and cant seem to find the mark that says it was done. there is now 124thousand miles on the clock. should i be worried and how often does it need to be replaced??? any solutions would be greatly appreciated

He is correct , the reconmended change for a timing belt for a Focus Petrol is 100,000 miles or 10 years whichever is the earliest . If any doubt it was not changed , would be advisable to replace it ASAP.

100,000 miles is the recommended time by ford,if you are not sure then get it changed,if the belt snaps it will cause major damage, its worth paying the money for a belt change compared to a new engine

A common fault is the connections under seat which can be damaged / disturbed due to changing of seat position etc.
