2005 Ford Focus engine management light and shuddering in lower gears.

Car: Ford Focus
Year: 2005
Categories: Running Rough, Starting & Power Loss
Over a week ago my car started shuddering in lower gears and then my engine management light came on. I went to a garage and they diagnosed that it could be a a cylinder misfiring but that it could just be a coil pack that needed changing. They cleared the fault and I replaced the pack. Seemed fine for 48 hours then shuddering came back and then the engine management light came back on flashing but once speed is up to about 50mph and into 5th gear it went off. Now it is back on permanently. Anyone got any ideas about what it could be.

Nope they didn't

it could possibly be one or more of the plugs is breaking down under load, change the plugs, its cheap and easy enough to do.

Me and my dad went to change my spark plugs tonight. opened them up to find the well has water in them and it is full of rust. Think that I am totally screwed now.

That was why I asked if the plugs had been checked as this is a well known fault with water from washer jets which was later modified / repaired .
