Turbo

2005 Ford Focus 1.6 tdci
Car: Ford Focus
Year: 2005
Variant: 1.6 tdci
Categories: Steering, Suspension, Brakes, Wheels & Tyres
got a squealing noise was convinced it was the drivebelt tensioner or alternator but today garage have said its a turbo fault. There is oil getting into hose from turbo to the airbox, this isn't normal is it? so they think its a dry bearing in the turbo which sounds expensive, they say with the hose disconnected and he puts hand over the turbo the squeal disappears
thanks

Could check this out ,

If still in doubt get a second opinion . Could check local Yellow pages for diesel specialist which may turn out a lot cheaper than main dealers. Worth a few phone calls .
