Poor mpg

please could you help i have a 06 1.4 petrol focus which is giving poor mpg i fill up and do mostly motorway driving and iam only getting 34mpg i do around 350 miles per week and a tank of fuel just last the week out . i used to have the older focus and this was alot better on fuel please help it costing a fortune and will have to sell it if i cannot find the answer

When did you last get car serviced ? You could get an emissions test done and see what shows .

i suspect the ecu needs a software update...
goto ford and have it plugged in... either that is a faulty lambda, MAF, or coolant sensor
