hi my ford focus 1.6 ghia is spluttering and misfiring also engine management light flashes and then goes off again any ideas!

Could be coil pack , quite common fault though there are many more possible causes .

Meant to say , sometimes you are better putting car in to get a diagnostic scan rather than guess what the cause of misfire is , especially if car near due a service .If not been serviced for a while , could be something simple like a plug breaking down.
