2002 Ford Focus focus disel losing power or holding back when accelerating

Car: Ford Focus
Year: 2002
Variant: 1.8 tddi diesel
Categories: Running Rough, Starting & Power Loss
sometimes my ford focus 1.8 diesel is hesitating when i accelerate, it feels like its losing boost or power somehow. I just wondered if anyone could suggest a few things i can try. I have serviced the car myself recently with new air filter, fuel filter, oil filter, and oil but no change. ANY HELP VETY MUCH APPRECIATED. Cheers Dean

would look at the EGR valve. these have occasionally stuck and cause this type of fault. failing that, a plug-in and diagnoisis would be a good step. hope this helps!!
