While driving the glow plug light will come on and the engine will only run on tickover stop and restart the engine and the problem sometimes returns straightaway and sometimes disappears for weeks

code read the glow light is the same as a petrol engine man light take to garage read codes .the car goes into limp home mode to protect the engine if a fault occurs
