2006 Ford Focus banging noise

Car: Ford Focus
Year: 2006
Variant: 1.6 Zetec Climate
Categories: Leaks & Noises
When I have been on the motorway and leave, after I have slowed down I can hear a dull banging noise that seems to be coming from my passenger side front wheel. As I slow down the noise slows. As I come to a stop it seems to make the noise with each rotation of the wheel. It is as if I have picked a stud or nail up. After I have left the car parked for an hour I can drive it around and there is no noise. It only comes back after I have been on the motorway.
Any suggestions?

You would have to get jacked up and checked for any wear / movement on that wheel otherwise just guessing. If it was a wheel bearing gone , it should be constant .It could possibly be a sticking disc pad ,driveshaft/c.v joint etc.Really have to hear noise to diagnose as a banging noise is different from a nail in tyre sound .
