timing belt ok would the crank sensor stop it running

Crank sensor may well be your fault with non start .

thanks ill give it atry i wasnt sure cos it didnt put up a code light

If your car has a rev counter , see if the needle moves when cranking over . If it does , unlikely to be crank sensor .

Best bet is to scan it for fault codes .
