ABS light permanently on

The ABS light came on about a month ago. I don’t know in which order to check things though - instrument cluster first? Wiring and sensor ring first? I’m really confused!!

Not normally the instrument cluster .The way to go is to scan it for fault codes , otherwise just guessing and possibly wasting time and money on parts not needed .
