1999 Ford Focus high rev then low revs then stalling stalling

when i approach any stop (traffic lights etc) and start to brake the rev counter has high rev and then when idle the revs drop and the car stalls.
After needing a new middle box and rear silencer i had Ford run a dianostics test and that showed nothing is wrong, i have changed the air filter and used some redex, the fault is still their what could be wrong?

idle speed control valve , clutch switch, mass air flow or speed sensor

how would i go about getting them tested or is it cheaper/easier to just replace the lot?
