2008 Ford Focus smell of petrol

I notice a smell of petrol whilst driving. First noticed last week after filling tank to the brim. The smell is not too strong but is persistant - even my wife can smell it. Anybody had the problem or can suggest the cause please? Many thanks - Peter K

hi i belive this will be a capless filler so when you fill up only let the pump click twice as the manual will say if you over fill it will leak down a tube and smell

yes i would also say the same briming isnt always a good idea as leads to spills
